Go to Amnezion platform
“Amnezion
– a collaborative course for rethinking the public” is the title of the
collaboration project started January 2012 by three organizations: ABART
artistic production (Mostar, BiH), BLOK -Local
base for culture refreshment (Zagreb, Croatia) and MINA,
Institute of Socially Engaged Art and Theory (Ljubljana, Slovenia). Having in
mind the growing interest in public space among cultural actors in the region,
as well as the lack of collaboration initiatives in the field, this project is
interested in creating a platform where to gather
organizations in the region interested in art in public space. Thus, the main
goal of the project is to share knowledge and experience about public space in
the region among interested cultural practitioners to elaborate on the ways in
which these spaces could be re-appropriated by art practice and cultural
activities.
The
organizations involved in the project are currently working on developing an
online platform where to present our work, while particularly aiming at
creating a system of interpretation which can help us organize and present our
material in an innovative way. The platform can in that way become a space
where to provide information for other initiatives interested in the issue,
discuss our working methods and strategies in public space and reflect on activities
taken up, so we can plan new ones and inform our future collaboration.
So
far, project participants organized a workshop on online collaboration in
Mostar, where we adopted a working model for our platform, which was further
developed on a working meetings in Zagreb and Ljubljana. An important segment of the project
is also our active work on supporting and producing artistic actions in public
space, thus this project is following and presenting the work of several
artists in each of the cities involved.
The final meeting of the Amnezion project will be held in Mostar, October 26th - 28th, 2012.
